Tarragona to Barcelona

Today is primarily a travel day.  We have thrown in a few attractions just to occupy otherwise cerveza-time.  Our first destination was Pont del Diablo; a Roman aqueduct.  We tried walking there from our condo but soon found ourselves on a small trail, in a wetland, being attacked by thousands of flys.

We made way to a hotel and coorsed the front desk to call a cab for us.  Pont del Diablo was supposed to be only 4km away, but it seemed much farther.

Our driver waited for us while we took in the attraction.  Back it the car, we headed for the seaside and walked down the hill toward the train station.  Since we were a little early for our scheduled train, we stopped at a little cafe for a beer and a snack.

We had reservations for train 1112 at 1:11, car 5, seats 6A,B,C & D.  It seems we still haven’t mastered this train travel stuff…  Up pulls a train, that seems to be 1112.  We didn’t see our particular coach, but with our previous experience, we thought it best to hop on find the coach from within the train.  We were currently in coach 18 so we started walking toward the front of the train.  The club car was just after coach 14 and that was the lowest number coach on the train.

It seems that if you know better, there is another train just behind that one.  It’s coaches number 1-10.  No matter, this train was already underway by now.

We ended up at the same station, just a few minutes later.  A short walk to the hotel and we had our rooms.

In addition to the traveling that we’re doing on our own, we also are spending a week on a guided tour.

We had a brief meeting and cena (dinner) with our group this evening.  Just prior to that, we caught a taxi to Sagrada Família, a massive church in the center of town.
