Beginning of our journey to Spain

We are about to embark on an adventure that takes us approximately 1/3 of the way around the world to visit an area that was first inhabited over 800,000 years ago (A Brief History).

Eric and Barb and Janet and myself will be on a 17 day combination of organized and free form (disorganized?) touring of Spain and Portugal including short visit to Toulouse France.

Barb has done an astonishing job assembling a time table filled with guided and self guided sight seeing and activities that should help us see as much of this side of the world as possible.

Beginning on Wednesday, September 11th, our schedule is:
Leave Seattle 1:50 pm
Arrive Barcelona 11:40
9 AM Train to Tarragona
1 PM Train to Barcelona
Barcelona
Tarragona/Valencia
Valencia/Madrid
Madrid/Free time
Cordoba/Free time
Seville
Faro/Lisbon
Lisbon/Sintra
8 AM Train to Porto
Fly to Toulouse
11 AM Train to Carcassone
AM Canal Du Midi (bike, cruise, walk)
11:45 AM flight home (10 pm arrival in Seattle)

This should be an exciting and fun filled trip where we hope to learn a few things about the history and culture, see some old world architecture, sample some Mediterranean cuisine and perhaps a libation or two.  Stay tuned...
